Motorhome Hire Liverpool

Liverpool is strategically located where the River Mersey meets the Irish Sea. Lying on the river’s north bank, the Royal Albert Dock forms the focal point of the city’s cultural highlights, which include the Tate Liverpool art gallery and Museum of Liverpool. It is also just a short walk from the Cavern Club, famed for its links to The Beatles. Ringed by green space, visiting in a motorhome rental in Liverpool means you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the landscapes of the north of England, whether that’s the moorland of the Peak District or the rolling grasslands of various nature reserves

Getting to Liverpool

Liverpool is located approximately an hour west of Manchester by road along the M62 motorway, and approximately 34kilometresrs north-west of London. The main railway station is called Liverpool Lime Street. Regular trains connect Liverpool with Manchester and London, which is just 2 hours and 10 minutes away. There is also a rail connection with Liverpool John Lennon Airport via Liverpool South Pathway station. The airport has almost 70 European destinations to choose between via Ryanair and EasyJet, including most of the continent’s major cities. The port of Liverpool has regular ferry links with Belfast in Northern Ireland, Dublin in the Republic of Ireland, and the Isle of Man.

Parking in Liverpool

Within the city centre area, dedicated parking for motorhome hire in Liverpool can be found at South Ferry Quay, which is just south of the Royal Albert Dock. You’ll need to download an app to your smartphone to pay, it also offers overnight parking with showers and toilets for around €17. If you’re prepared to park slightly further out, the Wirral Peninsula on the opposite side of the River Mersey is much more welcoming to campervans, with vehicles able to park on roadside ‘pay and display’ bays. If campervans are too large for one bay, it is permitted to park across two, so long as you purchase two tickets. Prices for bays in the Wirral Peninsula, such as that on Elgin Way and Woodside Approach in Birkenhead, cost approximately €1.50 per hour.
