The capital of Turia is located in a uniquely beautiful natural environment. Surrounded by fertile land, it has been a highly sought-after spot since pre-Roman times. Today, the city is world-famous for one of the marvels of Spanish cuisine, paella. But it is not the only attraction to do in a campervan hire in Valencia, not even at a culinary level, you can find that it is one of the regions with the healthiest, freshest and most delicious food. Its cultural heritage with places like the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences), its architecture, its traditions and its beaches (El Saler and La Malvarrosa, among others) make Valencia unique.
Around Valencia, you can visit charming towns like Buñol, where the Tomatina (local festival) is held, Picassent or Cheste (MotoGP Circuit).
The city is well connected with other major Spanish cities, as well as with the rest of Europe and the world. It has several national highways, such as the A7 and A3 that link it with the rest of the Mediterranean coast and Madrid respectively.
Its railway connections are also excellent thanks to its three main train stations: Estación del Norte, Estación de Joaquín Sorrolla and Estación de Sabanyal, all with high-speed rail lines (AVE).
Manises airport is located 8km (5 miles) from the centre of Valencia and is connected to the city by bus (line 150) and metro (line 5). It is a very busy airport that receives international and domestic flights, with major airlines such as AirEuropa, easyJet, Iberia, Lufthansa and Ryanair.
In the city centre, you have to pay for parking everywhere that falls within the two main roads (Fernando el Católico and Marqués del Turia), as almost everywhere is a blue zone with a maximum of 2 hours (€1.70). In addition, there are many pedestrianized streets and areas with very low-speed limits and time restrictions on transit.
Therefore, unless it is essential, we recommend leaving your motorhome hire in Valencia in adjacent areas (where it is free and easier to find space), such as the neighbourhood of Zaidía, very close to the centre; the neighbourhood of En Corts, just behind the Estación del Norte; or in Oriol and Torreifel, where you can reach the centre by metro, bus or streetcar. Campanar, the Nazaret neighbourhood and the university district are other good options, and by parking in these places you will end up saving time and money!
